A trip abroad. no comments
Sue and I went across the border (it’s abroad to us!)the other weekend to see Stephen and Catherine. Stephen is my oldest friend having grown up together, oh! the tales we could tell. Stephen has been in the RAF since he left school and clearly now lives a life quite removed from mine out here in the styx. Presumably any military life is quite far removed to what most of us are used to. Added to this of course is the fact that they do put their life on the line and that is something I have great difficulty getting my head around. Probably better that I don’t go any further on this track…
Stephen, Catherine and young Ieuan’s base really is a fantastically picturesque place. The weekend we visited was more than a little blustery and of course the rains had visited all parts of the UK and the river winding it’s way through the base was perilously close to the banks.
This tree has some historical significance but I’m ashamed to admit I’ve forgotten what it is.
Clearly, conditions here are rather good for growing, don’t forget these photos were taken mid-November.
I wish you could hear the roar of this wier.
Finally, here’s one of us altogether, thank heavens for the timer feature on the camera.
